Beggars have submitted a petition in the Lahore High Court (LHC) complaining about the ‘coercive measures’ taken by the district administration.

The petitioner stated that he is a disabled person and recites “Naats” in different religious functions as well as mosques.

The petitioner informed the court that the authorities are taking coercive measures to stop such activities.

Judge Ijazul Ahsan disposed of the petition, directing the District Coordination Officer (DCO) to hear the petitioner and all other concerned parties and decide the matter in accordance with law through a reasoned order as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of three weeks.
