Rs 10/kg hike in LPG price without OGRA approval

The distributors of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) have increased fuel price up to Rs 10 per kg without approval of the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) across the country.

As per details, the people will pay extra Rs 240 on purchase of a domestic cylinder and Rs 480 for commercial cylinder.

All Pakistan LPG Distributors Association Chairman Irfan Khokhar said: “The marketing companies have escalated prices without government’s notification.” He revealed that the Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC), Parco, and Pakistan State Oil (PSO) were on the top of black marketing companies list and government companies were also involved in corruption.

He further criticised the government for not taking action against distribution policies and said the new prices of 90 kg cylinder would be Rs 1,030 in Karachi, Rs 1,095 in Lahore, Kasur, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Faisalabad, Sialkot and Peshawar, Rs 1,150 would be charged in Rahimyar Khan, Sadiqabad, Hyderabad and Attock while the domestic cylinder in these areas would be available in Rs 1,250. Moreover, LPG prices in Gilgit-Baltistan, Murree, Nathiagali and Balakot would be Rs 120/kg while the price of domestic cylinder has escalated to Rs 1,350.
