Minister highlights achievements of Pakistani youth

Punjab Minister for Sports and Education Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan has said that the entire Pakistani nation is united against terrorism.

In his address to the sixth National Youth Peace Festival organised on Tuesday, the minister said that Pakistani youth was one of the most talented young generations of the world.

“Our youth has made the entire nation proud on several occasions by achieving international recognition in the field of education and sports,” said Mashhood, who attended the festival as the chief guest on behalf of Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

According to the minister, Pakistan was faced with many challenges but the main threat was terrorism. “We have to fight to ensure peace and development in our country. There are no good or bad Taliban. We are fighting against every sort of terrorism.”

Mashhood emphasised the need for utilizing talents of the youth in order to make the country self-reliant in all fields, saying, “The talent of our youth is in no way less than that of other countries and we are providing them with an appropriate platform to show their potential.”

Pakistan has great potential in various fields, he observed and added, “We can do wonders for our country by utilising the potential of the youth properly. Pakistan youth will take the country to new heights.”

Highlighting the achievements of the Pakistan youth, Mashhood said, “Our female students from Hasilpur and DG Khan took top positions in an international educational competitions held in Los Angeles and London in the recent past.”

The festival was organised at the Ali Institute of Education under the auspices of Chanan Development Organisation. United States Consul General in Lahore Zachary V Harkenrider, MNA Shaista Pervaiz Malik, MPA Waqas Mokal, Balochistan Youth Affairs Director Afzal Muhammad Solehri, KPK Youth Affairs Director Muhammad Arshad and Chanan Development Organisation Chairman Shahzad Khan were present on the occasion.
