AIOU attempts strengthening financial management system, ensuring transparency

Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) held a capacity-building workshop as part of its efforts to strengthen financial management system and to expose its employees to new technique for ensuring transparency in the monetary matters.
Making professional development and employees’ capacity-building a regular feature, the university’s employees were imparted training in financial and audit affairs through this workshop which held its various sessions during three-day deliberation this week.
It was sort of indigenous on-campus training (IOT) enabling the employees to deliver the best in performing their day-to-day official duties, particularly those relating to students.
The workshop was arranged in collaboration with Higher Education Commission (HEC) under Modern University Governance Program.
Addressing the concluding session, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Shahid Siddiqui said the IOT was a unique opportunity for refreshing of employees’ knowledge and capacity-building. He hoped it will help promoting employees’ efficiency in providing best possible services to the students and achieving the target of quality education.
He thanked the HEC for its technical and financial support in undertaking such high-profile training workshop. He appreciated Training Coordinator, Muhammad Hamad Tariq for making the workshop a productive exercise.
He reiterated the employees’ professional development will remain top priority in overall University’s development work. Other three priority areas are: promotion of research culture, revision of textbooks and strengthening of students’ support system.
Later, the Vice-Chancellor distributed certificates among the participants and resource persons.
