13 accused of Kasur child abuse scam sent on judicial remand

An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Tuesday sent 13 people accused in the Kasur child abuse scandal to jail on a 14-day judicial remand.

Earlier, police produced the 13 men before the ATC-II judge on expiry of their physical remand term.

Police officials, while presenting the interim challan, submitted that they had availed 35-day physical remand of the accused and completed investigation so the court could now hand them in judicial custody. Upon this, the court sent all the accused on a 14-day judicial remand.

It may be mentioned that the court had already sent two Kasur scandal accused, Tanzeelur Rehman and Waseem, to jail.

Ganda Singh Wala police had registered seven cases in connection with the Kasur child abuse scandal under Sections 506, 293, 387, 386 and 377 of the Code of Criminal Procedure and Anti-Terrorism Act. As many as 15 people had been implicated in the seven cases.
