Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) chief Fazlur Rehman called on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday and discussed with him various issues, including matters pertaining to the resignations submitted by the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM).
Sharif told the JUI-F chief that the government wanted MQM to withdraw their resignations and return to parliament for playing their role in the democratic process. Sources revealed that the premier asked Fazl to continue efforts for convincing MQM to take back resignations.
The prime minister said that the government wanted to take all political parties along in the larger interest of the country and to strengthen democracy.
