Meat vendors in Pakistan

It is indeed disturbing to see that the meat vendors in Pakistan are exploiting the consumers by selling unlawful meat (haram or prohibited) in our religion. It is really shocking to know that meat shops selling pig, horse and donkey meat have been discovered in different cities of Pakistan. The recent inspection by food authorities have found out that pig, horse and donkey meat was mixed with sheep and cow meat and sold to the consumers. This is indeed tantamount to playing with the health of the consumers, especially considering the fact that pig meat has been declared unlawful in Islam.

There seems to be no empathy and consideration amongst the meat vendors of Pakistan engaged in selling meat mixed with pig or horse meat to the citizens. This is sheer violation of Islamic rulings which call for justice and fairness in business dealings by the vendors and traders. Islamic rulings on business and trade require the traders and vendors to supply fresh, halal (lawful), hygienic and wholesome edibles to the consumers.

Nevertheless, the present scenario contradicts the Islamic principles and calls for urgent attention of the government authorities to adopt stringent mechanism to rectify this anomaly. It is urged to the government to seal and heavily fine the shops of the meat sellers selling such meat to the consumers. The owners of these shops should be imprisoned immediately. It is important to ensure the health and wellness of the consumers as intake of meat plays a pivotal role in gaining protein for the body. Therefore, it is binding upon the government authorities to adopt a regulatory mechanism for fighting against such odds.
