PESCO Board approves Hazara Circle’s bifurcation;Rejects KP Govt load shedding

Pesco Board of Directors at their 100th meeting held at Wapda House Peshawar, headed by Chairman BoD Pesco Malik Muhammad Asad Khan approved bifurcation of Pesco Hazara Circle into Two Circles(Abbotabad Circle & Mansehra Circle) to serve in the best interest of Customers.
According to details Pesco BoD accorded approval for purchase of meters, 8959 Distribution Transformers,7106 Kilometer Conductor and 55000 steel cross arms. Similarly BoD directed to remove hurdles in construction of Mardan 3 Grid Station and construction of 132 KV Sheikh Muhammadi-Hayatabad Transmission Line.
On the issue of revising load shedding schedule recommended by Provincial Govt, BoD decided that load shedding schedule change on Provincial Govt proposal Pesco will face a deficit of Rs.5 Billion and if Provincial Govt is ready to bear these expenses Peso will adopt this proposal, other wise it will difficult. Similarly Pesco BoD said that Provincial Govt may establish Transformers Workshops on district level and Pesco will send transformers for repair to these transformer workshops. Pesco also high lights its reservations on Trolley Mounting Transformer.
On the directions of Privatization Commission Pesco has with held the Recruitment process in Pesco and BoD directed to takes guide lines from Federal Govt in this regard. Posting of Niaz Muhammad Khan as General Manager was also approved.
A number of other managerial and administrative matters on the agenda were also approved and certain were referred to the concerned committees.
Chief Executive Pesco Syed Hassan Fazil gave a comprehensive Presentation to the board on the efforts, to bring Pesco out of losses, increase in recovery of Pesco, redressal of direct hooks. BoD discussed load shedding schedule of Pesco in the context of current energy crisis. Chairman BoD said that Pesco must attain the given targets through good governance. BoD ordered to enhance Recovery and reduce Line Losses during 2015,as per the given targets.
