Livestock Department in Lahore on Sunday seized at least 400 kg unhygienic meat and arrested four suspects.
The operation was conducted on a tip-off in the areas of Duban Pura and Canal view where livestock authorities raided illegal slaughter houses and confiscated substandard meat.
Meanwhile, a team headed by Assistant Commissioner District West Riaz Mustafa in Karachi raided illegal slaughter houses in the area of Baldia Town Karachi and detained at least two butchers and recovered 20 kg unhealthy meat.
Many butchers managed to flee when they saw the raiding team coming their way.
