Paramedical staff of Jinnah hospital in Karachi went on a strike on Monday to protest over health allowance demand.
The strike was observed on the appeal of Jinnah hospital and National Institution for Children paramedical staff’s joint action committee.
All the Outdoor Patient Departments (OPDs) remained closed while according to reports, only fifty percent of the emergency staff was available. Patients and their relatives faced severe difficulties due to the closure of Outdoor Patient Departments (OPDs) and shortage of paramedics at the emergency.
Some doctors also joined the strike in support of the demand.
The protesters were of the view that they are not being provided with health allowance for a long time period however, if their demands are not fulfilled they will go for a further action plan.
