Fire broke out early Monday morning at one of the most frequented outlets of a chain of departmental store in Nazimabad.
Fire department officials sharing details of the incident said a short circuit triggered the fire. No loss of life was reported in the incident.
“We were fortunately informed in time and four fire engines dispatched to the site managed to control the fire at the early stage,” the officials said.
In reply to a question, they said that extent of material loss could not be mentioned off-hand.
Responding to another question, they agreed that there was need to ascertain causes for sudden surge in the incidents of fire outbreaks in various industrial and commercial units in the metropolis.
They agreed that a close coordination was required among all stakeholders for control and prevention of the incidents that held potential for a disastrous situation.
