An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Monday ordered that access of Benazir Bhutto murder case’s record be granted to her political secretary Naheed Khan.

The Interior Ministry said that United States (US) journalist Mark Siegel would record his statement on October 1.

ATC Judge Rai Ayub Marth was hearing the case. Naheed Khan appeared before the court. The ATC summoned the prosecutor’s witness SP Tahir Ayub and first investigation officer on the case, Inspector Kashif Riaz, for the next hearing. Both the summoned persons will record their statements on September 21.

The prosecution appealed to the court against the decision to record the statement of witness Azam Yousaf, who was injured in the incident. The court granted the objection and dismissed the recording of Yousaf’s statement.

While talking to the media after the hearing, Naheed Khan said that Amin Fahim and Safdar Abbasi were present in the car when Benazir was shot. However, she said that the court did not record their statements. She further said that she would respond to allegations in the court.

She does not want to see culprits in the case at large, she added.
