Islamabad – Our Weather Reporter: The nation thanked Raheel Sharif on Saturday for the lowering mercury levels to produce quite a pleasant September weather.
“Not a summer fan, generally, but this summer was very bad,” said Uzair Bhatti, an Islamabad resident. “But thankfully General Raheel Sharif sprung into action and now it’s quite nice.”
The weather is also to lead to a decline in electricity bills as more and more people have started ditching their air conditioners in favour of fans, for which Islamabad residents like Bhatti were even more grateful.
“Things are seriously better here than next door in India, where sweltering heat is forcing farmers to commit suicides,” says Faiza Butt, a resident of Lahore. “It is not every nation that has as professional an army chief as we have.”
“Thank you, also, Raheel Sharif,” she added.
