The government colleges still could not start the new session of education despite two months of the announcement of matriculation results.

Students and parents are still waiting for starting of new academic session; however, directorate of college education could not finalise the merit list of first year candidates. It may be noted that the board of secondary education Karachi had announced the result in July.

Students said they were not sure about the start of admission and start of classes in intermediate colleges. They are really conscious about their syllabus and their next educational institutions. They said they did not know the environment of college, so they would need time to adjust in new institutions but the delay in admission process was not helpful in this regard. They said they spent their time in schools and they wanted to start their college education without wasting time.

Parents complain that this is the failure of government and directorate of colleges in completing the admission process. They said private coaching centers had already started their new sessions but the government colleges were waiting for new students. They appealed the government to announce the admission merit list, as soon as possible.

Senior teacher Professor Mehdi Hassan told PPI that academic year was continuously getting late and syllabus could not be completed in time. He said students were being directly affected while parents, families of students and institutions were also among the affectees. “Public institutions are welfare institutes for society so there is need of proper system of admission which should be followed without interruption,” he added. He said it was better to start new classes soon so to repair the loss. He said colleges suffered because of late admissions and late state of classes.

Another senior educationalist Professor Shehzad Muslim said: “As an educationist, I think this is students’ loss. New academic session should be started as per schedule.”

“This is an era of mobile phone and internet, so young students could become addicted to them if they have too much free time. We must not give them this space to lose their time in non-educational activities.”

He said: “I do not know what the actual reason behind this delay is, but I think time of the students is being wasted.”

However, the directorate of college education Karachi has said the merit list would be issued after 15th September on the website of Sindh E-Centralized College Admission Program 2015-16.

  1. Probably a step forward towards the success elements and there would indeed be more things to be done later on, and hopefully we would almost be feeling more concern towards such elements. management assignments
