More than 100 suspects were arrested during search operations in different areas of the provincial capital on Friday.
Police and other law enforcement agencies (LEAs) personnel conducted a joint operation against outlaws in Wahid Garhi Sheikhan, Khazan and surrounding localities of Peshawar.
During the operation more than 100 suspects who failed to substantiate their identity, and were found to be involved in suspicious activities, were detained.
The police after registering separate cases against the nabbed suspects at respective police stations have started an investigation.
Ex-DIG robbed of millions in bonds, foreign currency
Unidentified robbers looted bonds and foreign currently worth millions of rupee from the house of former Police DIG, Brigadier (r) Imitaz.
Police said that armed robbers barged into Brig. (r) Imtiaz’s house, located in Sector F-10 of the federal capital, on the night falling between Thursday and Friday and took the resident hostage at gunpoint. The robbers robbed bonds worth Rs 2,000,000, $8000 and 1300 Dirham from the house and fled after committing the robbery.
The police after registering a case against the robbers have started an investigation.
