One robber was killed while his two accomplices managed to escape after exchange of fire with the police on Wednesday.
Police said that it stopped a motorcycle carrying three suspects near Railway Colony near Misri Shah area of the city but the motorcyclists instead of stopping started firing at the police and tried to flee.
In retaliatory firing of police, one robber was killed and his two cohorts managed to flee the scene.
The body of robber killed in fire exchange was shifted to hospital for postmortem while the police have started search for his fleeing accomplices.
