Magnitude 5.5 quake hits parts of KPK, Gilgit-Baltistan

A rather strong earthquake of 5.5 magnitude jolted several parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan in Thursday’s wee hours.

The epicenter of the earthquake was located in the border region of Afghanistan nearly 93 kilometers under Hindu Kush mountain.

The tremors were felt in several cities including Peshawar, Chitral, Lower Dir, Mingora, Ghazar and Shangla.

The quake created panic among the residents who came out of their homes, however, no loss of life and property has been reported.
