Rangers on Thursday conducted search operations in Azizabad, the stronghold of MQM, PIA Colony and old Sabzi Mandi areas of Karachi. Some 30 suspects were taken into custody.
According to Superintendent (SP) Gulshan, three convicted felons were also among the arrested. Meanwhile, the counter terrorism department (CTD) of Sindh police arrested at least six suspected people in late Wednesday night operation in Karachi area of Saddar. According to In-charge CTD Ali Raza, six suspects have been taken into custody during a late night raid at Iqbal Plaza located in Saddar.
Ali Raza said the suspects had been shifted to undisclosed location for interrogations. The CTD Karachi boss said the raid was launched following a tip-off regarding presence of outlawed organisation’s operatives in the building near Jahangir Park. The security officials searched through the Plaza rooms in an operation that continued for nearly an hour.
