The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) on Wednesday sacked its party leader Qamar Mansoor from all the organisational responsibilities owing to his “mental and physical condition”.

According to a statement issued on Wednesday, the decision was taken in a joint meeting of the MQM’s Karachi and London coordination committees. The decision came hours after the Rangers released Mansoor on “humanitarian grounds”.

He was produced in a local anti-terrorism court (ATC) where the paramilitary troops submitted a report stating that Mansoor had been released on “humanitarian grounds” due to his illness.

The statement said: “The coordination committees unanimously decided to relieve Qamar Mansoor owing to reservations expressed by him in a chat with the committee after being released by the Rangers”.

It directed the party workers not to establish contact with Mansoor on organisational matters as per his will.

  1. This is the real MQM headed by a terrorist from abroad who abandon an important member in distress. Members of this Terrorist Group should wake up and see. Clean this party and fatso or go down with it because party won’t go down with you but will leave you.
