Family of four murdered, house set ablaze


In an awful and inhuman incident in Karachi, a couple and their two children were slaughtered by unidentified men late on Tuesday.

According to police and rescue official, the incident took place in Manzoor Colony where a man, his wife, their teenage son and a daughter were brutally slaughtered by unidentified assailants inside their home.

After brutally killing the family, the murderers later torched the house and fled away, police said.

The victim family included 45-year-old Tariq, Sameena, 40, Saad, 15, and Romaisa, 13. An eight-year-old boy, Hammad, was injured in the crime. Initial investigations suggest that the family members were knocked unconscious before life-claiming penetrations in their bodies were made.

Baloch Colony Station House Officer (SHO) Yasin Gujjar said that setting the house on fire was an attempt to destroy evidences. Murdered Tariq’s uncle said that neighbours got to know about the incident after the house exhaled clouds of smoke. He said that Tariq belonged to Dera Ismail Khan and he did not have any personal dispute with anyone.

Meanwhile, a 25-year-old unidentified youth was gunned down by unknown armed men in Razzaqabad. The body was shifted to JPMC for medico-legal formalities.

A youth, Baseer, 25, son of Khalil, was shot at and injured by unidentified gunmen in Al Asif Square area of Sohrab Goth. He was taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for treatment.

In another incident, a man, Muhammad Usman, 42, son of M Deedar, strangulated himself at his home in Dastagir Colony, Block 15, Federal B area. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico- legal formalities.
