Ghazi murder case forwarded to another judge after Musharraf objects

Acting Additional Sessions Judge Kamran Basharat Mufti on Monday forwarded Lal Masjid cleric Ghazi Abdul Rasheed’s, murder case to another court on former president Pervez Musharraf’s reservations.

The Islamabad sessions judge had refused to hold further hearings of the case.

During the hearing, Musharraf’s counsel Malik Tahir Advocate said that Mufti had served as secretary of Lal Masjid’s commission. He expressed his client’s reservations, saying that the judge might have pre-conceived notions in the matter.

However, the case was forwarded to Additional Sessions Judge Ata Rabbani. The hearing of Ghazi murder case will be held on September 15.
