Adviser to the Prime Minister on National Security and Foreign Affairs, Mr. Sartaj Aziz, has conveyed his heartfelt condolences of the death of sixty soldiers of Saudi Arabia, UAE and Bahrain in Yemen on Friday last. He also shared the grief of the brotherly peoples and Governments of the United Arab Emirates, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Kingdom of Bahrain over the attack on their soldiers.
A deadly attack on the soldiers of the Coalition in Yemen on Friday, 4 September 2015, resulted in the loss of sixty lives, including forty-five from the United Arab Emirates.
In a message, the Advisor said Pakistan has strongly condemned actions by Houthis to overthrow the legitimate government in Yemen led by President Hadi. We fully support the political objectives of the Coalition to restore unconditionally the legitimate Government in Yemen and withdrawal of Houthis from the territories seized by them including Sana’a.
He said Pakistan firmly believes that peaceful settlement of the crisis in Yemen, in accordance with the United Nations Security Council Resolution 2216, will significantly contribute to the efforts to promote peace and security in the region.
