Hussain says PAF will fulfil its responsibilities by following footprints of martyrs and ghazis
Paying glowing tributes to the martyrs and ghazis of 1965 War, President Mamnoon Hussain said Pakistan’s history is a clear testimony of the bravery and gallantry of the armed forces who are again displaying the same professionalism in Operation Zarb-e-Azb against terrorists.
Addressing the fly past ceremony in Islamabad, the president pointed out that it was the true spirit of patriotism of our armed forces and the entire nation that defeated an enemy that was three times bigger in the war.
Hussain expressed the confidence that Pakistan Air Force will continue to fulfil its responsibilities while pursuing the footprints of the martyrs and ghazis. Lauding the splendid show of fly past by fighter jets of Pakistan Air force, Mamnoon Hussain said such demonstrations infuse a new spirit and determination in the nation.
The president said Pakistan has always given a befitting response in case of any threat to its sovereignty and peace. He made it clear that Pakistan is a peace loving country and desires cordial relations with all the countries.
Meanwhile, on the 50th anniversary of the Defence Day of Pakistan PAF fighting jets changed the sky’s colour with a beautiful fly-past in Fatima Jinnah Park, Islamabad.
Sherdil formation of PAF, JF 17 Thunder and F-16 participated in the fly-past and jolted the land of capital city with their sounds. Also, Accural B-3, Puma Helicopters and Paratroopers of PAF participated in the event.
President of Pakistan Mamnoon Hussain and PAF Chief Sohail Aman attended the fly-past ceremony.
On the occasion of Defence Day, Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman said in his message, “We are a resilient nation, which has always proved its worth in difficult times, whether those were natural calamities or an imposed armed conflict, as in 1965.”
“Though, we are a peace loving nation, but we know how to thwart the heinous attempts that disrupt our peaceful way of life and certainly; our strength is in this resolve. Today, let us re-pledge to make Pakistan a truly dynamic and prosperous country by firmly following the great Quaid’s golden principles of Unity, Faith and Discipline as our national ideals.”
He assured that PAF, with state-of-the-art equipment on its inventory and a highly capable workforce, is fully prepared to defend the aerial frontiers of its motherland.
Aerial and static display of PAF aircraft and ammunition was held at PAF Base, Nur Khan (Rawalpindi), PAF Base, Masroor (Karachi), PAF Base, Peshawar, PAF Base, Samungli (Quetta) and PAF Base Lahore. Students form Fazaia schools and colleges presented national songs.
