Law enforcers foiled a possible terrorist attack on Sunday when they defused a suicide jacket found in Sarai Kharbuza area of the federal capital.
According to reports, police at the Tarnol station acted when they received information of the presence of a suicide jacket near a nullah in Sarai Kharbuza area.
A police contingent along with members of the bomb disposal squad immediately reached the area and defused the explosives-laden jacket.
Security had already been put on high alert in the federal capital on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Defence Day of Pakistan. Police believe that the terrorists, failing to enter the capital, threw the suicide jacket.
