Pakistan Muslim League (PML-Q) President and former prime minister Ch Shujat Hussain said on Sunday that an Indian attack would be repulsed by the armed forces and people of Pakistan with the spirit and courage of 1965.
Talking to media after laying a wreath and offering fateha at the mazar of Lance Naik Mehfooz Shaheed, recipient of Nishan-e-Haider, in Mehfoozabad (Pind Malikan), the PML(Q) chief said that every hand heading towards Pakistan would be chopped off.
Speaking of the important role of Pakistan’s armed forces, Hussain said, “Pakistan can overcome its present difficulties and problems only with the role of a strong army.” “On Defence Day, I salute those shuhda who laid down their lives in the defence and safeguarding of the country’s frontiers,” he said.
Hussain was accompanied by Mohammad Basharat Raja and other PML leaders on this occasion.
Ch Shujat Hussain said that the role of the armed forces had been ideal in every difficult time for our country. He said a strong army is the guarantee of a strong Pakistan.
Hussain said there was no instance in any country of the world where the country’s own armed forces were subject to criticism, but that unfortunately even our Defence Minister did not spare the army.
