PML-Q holds ‘Salam Shuhada Rally’ in city

The Pakistan Muslim League (PML) Sindh chapter on Sunday held a historic “Salam Shuhada Rally” in Karachi led by its Sindh president Haleem Adil Sheikh to pay glowing tributes to the martyrs and Ghazis of Pakistan Army on the occasion of the 50th Defense Day of Pakistan.

The rally comprised a large number of buses, cars, motorcycles and a ‘missile bus’ which was participated by thousands of citizens who raised slogans of ‘Allah Akbar’ and ‘long live Pakistan Army’ and marched on the city streets. Noted singers, artists, schoolchildren and women sang the national songs. The schoolchildren wearing military uniform like dresses saluted the Pak Army and the national heroes of Pakistan. The rally participants prayed for the martyrs of Operation Zarib-e-Azab and Army Public School Peshawar. After the prayers, 0.1 million balloons were released into the air. The charged but fully disciplined rally ended at the Three-Swords in Clifton area.

It may be recalled that the Pakistan Muslim League Sindh workers during the last six days have visited the graves of the Pak Army martyrs to offer fateha in Tando Allahyar, Mirpur Khas, Sanghar, Tharparkar and other districts besides holding the defense day related programs there.

The rally in Karachi was specially attended by writers, poets, the heirs of the martyrs and the eyewitness elders of the 1965 war.

PML leaders Akhtar Pervez, Naseebullah Achakzai, Naeem Adil Sheikh, Bano Sagheer Siddiqui, Anwar Kashmiri, Syed Mehboob Shah, Irshad Qaimkhani, Saifullah Khan, Babar Anees, Kamran Haroon Ansari, Rana Zulfiqar, Kashif Nizami, Bashir Bhatti, Danish Khan, Zakir Qureshi, Wasil Khan, Dr Manzar Aalam, Qutibuddin Azad, Nisar Shah, Iqbal Yusuf, Imran Qureshi, Imam Din Kerio, Javed Awan, Col (retd) Sagheer Siddiqui, Faiza Laghari, Mah Gul, Jameela Baloch, Sumaira Anwar and other senior leaders were present.
