Ah, what a devilishly delicious feeling schadenfreude is!
The conjugal bliss of the couple who-would-never-be-the-first couple has hit some snags, it appears. It started with a story in a British newspaper that accused Jemima Khan of running a smear campaign against Imran Khan’s current wife Reham Khan. One of the sources of the story was Mrs Khan’s cousins.
The former captain, however, quickly came to his ex-wife’s defence, saying these allegations were ridiculous. This is not the first snub that he has almost publically given his wife. There is the decision not to allow her to participate in party politics after the defeat in NA-19.
And then there is the more serious aspect: apparently, she and Jemima’s boys can’t stay in the same house. When they were over last, she had to go to Karachi. House rules.
Oh, well.

Recently, the outgoing Italian ambassador was feted at a luncheon in Lahore. Speaking at the event, H E Adriano Choidi Cianfarani said that he enjoyed his time in Pakistan.
The event, however, was merely to welcome Italy’s new honorary consul in Lahore, Abdul Samad Dawood. Does the name ring a bell? Well, that is because, he is the son of the former Italian honorary consul in Lahore, Hussain Dawood, the industrialist.
We’d heard of mauroosi siyasat, now see mauroosi honorary consul-i.
