Traders, lawyers to collectively push for shifting F-8 district courts

Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ICCI) and Islamabad Bar Association (IBA) have constituted a joint committee of traders and lawyers to shift district courts from F-8 Markaz.

Former ICCI president Muhammad Ejaz Abbasi and IBA president Zahid Mahmood Raja will jointly head the committee.

During its first meeting at ICCI, the joint committee discussed many options for finding out a permanent solution for shifting district courts from F-8 and agreed that the presence of courts in F-8 Markaz was not only a security threat for the lives of honourable judges and lawyers, it was also a major hurdle in the growth of business activities in the area.

The committee was of the view that the issue was important for the whole city, not just traders and lawyers. The committee also agreed to approach all relevant forums for finding out amicable solutions for this issue.

The committee decided to hold a press conference on September 10, 2015 at ICCI to highlight the seriousness of the issue and to invite the attention of the government for its urgent resolution.

Other members of the committee include Zafar Bakhtawari, Khalid Iqbal Malik, Naeem Siddiqui, Naeem ur Rehman Piracha, Tariq Junaid and Khalid Chaudhry from ICCI and Ch Asif Irfan, Malik M. Akram, Hafiz Mazhar Javed, Ms Farzana Faisal, Ms Nusrat Parveen from IBA.
