Punjab Food Authority (PFA) Director Operations (DO) Ayesha Mumtaz has said on Saturday the seized meat from Lahore Railway Station was unhygienic, not haram while the authority’s Gulberg team sealed Cosa Nostra, a high-end eatery owned by Mediterranean Food Company.
While talking to journalists, the PFA DO said laboratory reports regarding seized meat has revealed that it was not haram, but hygienic.
Mumtaz said that keeping her promise, she has made the report public.
She said that two more slaughter houses in the city were raided and 1,080 kgs unhygienic meat was seized on Saturday.
“During the authority’s raid, Punjab government’s official seals were also recovered which have left me bewildered,” she added.
She further said that investigations are being carried out to know how government seals were found at a public slaughter house.
COSA NOSTRA FINED:
Meanwhile, the PFA Gulberg imposed heavy fine town team Cosa Nostra and Boulevard Bar and Grill located near Gurumangat Road on the charges of open drains, poor washing area, dirty filters and broken freezers. Both the eateries were given last warning before sealing.
In a similar development, a chocolate production unit in Mansoora, canteen of Mian Munshi Hospital and Aslam Bakers located on Bund Road were sealed due to poor hygienic conditions.
