Security forces arrested a suspected terrorist from Quetta on Saturday, foiling a terror attack reportedly planned for Defense Day (tomorrow).
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), a suspected terrorist linked with Indian intelligence agency RAW was arrested on the basis of intelligence information. They said that the suspected terrorist was planning to carry out attacks in Quetta on Defense Day.
Six kilograms of explosives, a remote-controlled improvised explosive device (IED) and nuts and bolts were also recovered from his possession. Another IED planted in the city was also neutralized by the bomb disposal squad.
Moreover, SSP Operations Quetta Wahid Khattak told reporters that a terrorist was arrested while he was planting a bomb under the Saryab bridge.
He said that the bomb disposal squad was called in to defuse the bomb that weighed six kilogrammes and would have caused massive destruction had it been detonated.
