Islamabad police arrested 9 outlaws and 16 professional alm-seekers during high vigilance in the city and recovered bike, cash, wine, hashish and weapons from their possession, a police spokesman said on Saturday.
Koral police arrested four accused Arshad Ali, Shahwais, Naveed Hussain and Afzal and recovered 2.47 kg hashish, two liter beer and 9mm pistol along with ammunition from their possession. Margalla police arrested a bootlegger Waheed and recovered two wine bottles from him.
Industrial-Area police arrested Naqeeb who was allegedly involved in theft and recovered stolen valuables from him. Sham Colony police arrested Aqib while Noon Police arrested Javed and Waqar allegedly involved in theft and recovered stolen valuables from their possession.
Cases have been registered against the apprehended and further investigation is underway.
Police teams also arrested 16 alm-seekers from various areas of the city.
SSP Islamabad Sajid Kiani said that the purpose of the vigilance was to ensure foolproof security in the city. He directed all SHOs to continue it.
He also appealed to the citizens to remain vigilant and inform police in case of any suspicious activity around them.
