In a major action against miscreants in the federal capital, the police and Rangers personnel arrested one hundred and twenty one (121) suspects during joint search operation in different localities in Bhara Kahu area of Islamabadon on Friday.
“The search operation was conducted on a tip-off from security agencies and 121 suspects were detained,” the police said. Those arrested included 12 Afghan nationals.
According to police, four 9mm rifles, 19 pistols, 890 bullets and other weapons were recovered in the operation.
According to details, the whole area of Barakahu was cordoned off to ensure that no one escapes. The search operation was carried in the houses identified by the intelligence agencies.
Police sources said that Bara Kahu is infested by criminals, many of them Afghans who are living in the vicinity of the capital to carry out their activities. Many are involved in different crimes including robbery and theft of vehicles as well as smuggling and sale of narcotics and arms.
