Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Thursday called for Pakistan Rangers to take action against corruption in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) if his party’s provincial government was unable to do the same.
In an address to party workers in Shikarpur during a two-day visit to Sindh, Khan called on Rangers to take action against all corrupt officials in Sindh who were still at large. The PTI chief also said on the occasion that the biggest problem facing Sindh was corruption, and the people of the province wanted to see real change in the current system.
“Corruption destroys a society, and we would fight for the rights of the people of Sindh,” stated Khan.
The PTI chief claimed that funds for provincial development in Sindh had gone into the pockets of “those in power”.
Khan said that his party would pave Sindh on the path of development by introducing new facing in the local bodies (LB) election.
“People of Sindh need and want ‘Tabdeeli’ (change) the most and PTI would award tickets to candidates in upcoming LB election on the basis of merit to ensure resolution of problems faced by people of province at their doorsteps,” he said.
Khan demanded that elections be held under a ‘neutral umpire’. He said true change will start from local bodies elections because people of Sindh can only be set free through local body polls.
