Lauding the efforts made by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to arrange the Pakistan Super League (PSL) in Doha, Qatar next year, opening batsman Ahmed Shehzad has appealed cricket lovers to start supporting their own cricket.

“It’s time to really stand tall and support our own cricket. A great initiative taken by the PCB and Najam Sethi by announcing the PSL in Qatar,” he tweeted on Thursday. The 23-year-old said he believes the PSL would help youngsters to furnish their capabilities, tweeting ‘this PSL will help the youngsters to learn a lot.’

He said that those criticising the move by the PCB for holding the super league at the neutral venue in Qatar by ‘digging things deep down’, they need to know exact information first and stop damaging Pakistan cricket. Ahmed, who is also the only Pakistani to score centuries in all formats of the game, was of the view that promotion of the PSL would silence the haters. “And this is high time to make this as a trend and show our power to the haters,” he said.
