Another death row prisoner was hanged in Sahiwal’s Central Jail in the wee hours of Tuesday.
The convict, Muhammed Ashraf, breathed his last at the gallows for assassinating a man, Shehzad Fareed, in 1994 over a trivial issue.
Finding him guilty on the murder count, the local judge awarded him death penalty in 1995.
Another hanging scheduled at 05:30 hours on Tuesday in the city’s central jail, was put on hold after reconciliation agreement reached between the two parties.
