Two police constables were gunned down in an ambush attack by unidentified attackers in Iranabad, Par Hoti area of District Mardan, police sources said on Sunday.
Two constables of Gari Kapoora Police Station, District Mardan, Zubair and Walid, were on motorbikes during routine patrolling when unidentified gunmen attacked them, killing the constables on the spot, and then managing to escape.
Hearing gun shots, the local people rushed to the scene and informed the police, who took the bodies of the police constables to hospital for postmortem. A heavy contingent of police also started a search operation in the area and arrested a few suspects for interrogation.
