SSGC official, another suspect remanded in Rangers custody for 90 days

An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Karachi on Monday handed over Ameen Rajpoot, the chief finance officer of Sui Southern Gas Compnay and another suspect Mukhtar Hussain into Rangers custody on 90-day remand.

The plea for remand was made by the Rangers law officer who pleaded before the court for remand and the court was informed that Ameen Rajpoot was arrested on the information provided by former petroleum minister Dr Asim Hussain and he will be interrogated for involvement in offences that come within the anti terrorist act’s ambit.

Another suspect Mukhtar Hussain was detained on a tip-off provided by Faisal Masroor Siddiqui and Mujibullah Siddiqui. The suspect belongs to a political party and is involved in china-cutting and extortion cases.

After hearing the remarks, the court sent both accused on 90-day remand.
