State Minister for National Health Services Saira Afzal Tarar on Monday alleged Sindh Higher Education Commission’s (HEC) chairman and former Petroleuym Minister Dr Asim Hussain of backing fake medical colleges and provision of bogus degrees.
She expressed these views in a press conference in the federal capital.
Tarar vowed for extending cooperation with law enforcers who are investigating Dr Asim for alleged fraud case. The alleged culprit has also been removed from presidency of Nursing Council, she added.
She said that cases would be forwarded to National Accountability Bureau (NAB) regarding alleged embezzlement in Pakistan Medical and Dental Council’s (PMDC) management. Tarar said that Dr Shaista is not legal registrar but Dr Nadeem Akbar is.
The state minister vowed to get PMDC Ordinance approved by the Parliament. It is a mere coincidence that the Ordinance came to light when Dr Asim was arrested, she added.
Tarar said that PMDC members’ number would be cut to 35 from 81. The total of 35 members would have at least 20 elected while 15 honorary representatives. She further said that all provinces would be given representation in PMDC on equality basis.
Tarar resolved to hold elections of PMDC within 120 days.
There is every possible fact has been initiated and there is a need for the governmental sector to improve the present policies been going on and then to going forward there will be success for them.
