In another of its series of raids against eateries and food outlets serving adulterated and unhygienic food, the Punjab Food Authority (PFA) on Monday imposed heavy fine on Macdonalds MM Alam road with last warning of sealing on the charges of poor quality of oil and presence of starch in ketchup.
The PFA Gulberg team inspected Wings restaurant, located in the same area, and imposed heavy fine with last warning of sealing. The team found ingredients of poor quality being used in the kitchen.
In related development, a juice corner named Health and Goodness located at Hussain Chowk was sealed on the charges of unhygienic conditions.
The workers of juice corner were without medical fitness certificates and spoiled bananas were being used.
Meanwhile, PFA Director Operations Ayesha Mumtaaz sealed Shaheen Shinwari Restaurant in Johar Town area owing to dirty freezers and uncovered food items.
FAKE TEAM ARRESTED:
Meanwhile, a woman con artist impersonating as an official of the PFA was arrested along with her three accomplices on Monday.
Police said that a gang of four people headed by a female which claimed to be belonging to the provincial food department raided shops and restaurants in various areas of Lahore, challaned them and received huge sum of money.
On complaints of the affected traders, the police conducted operation in Nishtar Colony area of the city and arrested all the four members of the gang.
The police after registering a case against the detainees have started the investigation.
