New security plan for Balochistan after Khanzada attack

Balochistan’s Inspector General Police (IGP) Muhammad Aamlish has said in an in interview that keeping in view the martyrdom of Punjab home minister Col (r) Shujaa Khanzada, a new security plan has been devised for the security of foreign embassies, important installations and parliamentarians.

He said that Khanzada along with his associates was killed in a terrorist attack in his village due to weaknesses in the security system. “Keeping in view the security lapse, we have redesigned our security plan to provide foolproof security to foreign embassies in Quetta including those of Iran and Afghanistan, as well as important installations and government personalities and parliamentarians,” he said.

The Balochistan IGP said that all security agencies have been extending cooperation to each other to ensure implementation of National Action Plan (NAP) in letter and spirit and to curb terrorism in Balochistan. “Now, everyone is witnessing restoration of peace in a province which remained a volatile region during the last few years,” he said, adding that the credit of this improvement goes to the federal and provincial governments and security agencies including Balochistan Police.
