The water level in three dams supplying water to Rawalpindi and Islamabad has reached the maximum level.

The water level in Rawal Dam has touched 1,752 acre feet, in Simli Dam 2,200 acre feet and in Khanpur Dam 1,980 acre feet.

Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) Managing Director (MD) Raja Shaukat Mehmood said that tube wells were supplying uninterrupted water supply as the dams were filled to the maximum level. He expressed the hope that the twin cities will not face water shortages in the next six months. The monsoon rains have filled the three reservoirs to maximum limit.
