The elected members of the district council Peshawar Saturday took oath at Peshawar District Council Hall.
District Returning Officer (DRO) Osama Warriach administered oath to 135 members of the district council, including women and minorities representatives. Peshawar Deputy Commissioner Riaz Mehsud was also present on the occasion.
The elected members were also briefed about their powers to serve the people at grassroots. They would elect district nazim and naib nazim no Sunday (today). Similar oath taking ceremonies were held in every district council of the province.
