Five killed in clash between two groups in Bhains Colony

At least five people were killed and two others wounded in an armed clash between two groups within the limits of Sukhan police station in Bhains Colony area of Karachi.

Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre Director Dr Semi Jamali has confirmed the death toll, saying that five dead bodies and two wounded have been transferred to the facility. Sources said the clash was result of an old enmity between the two groups and leader of one faction Dr Abbas Ali and his security guard were among those killed in the fight.

DSP Malir Altaf Hussain said 10 people have been arrested in connection with the clash. The DSP said that Dr Abbas entered the cattle farm of Chaudhary Shafeeq accompanied by 15-20 men and opened fire. The people present there retaliated as a result of which five men belonging to both the groups died whereas two were wounded. Three persons killed were identified as Dr Abbas, Muhammad Hussain and Iqbal Arain. On the other hand, one person was shot dead in Lyari.

And in a blast in a factory in Sher Shah Kabari market, at least one person died and two others critically injured. Rangers and policemen arrived at the scene and cordoned off the area. Bomb disposal squad also arrived at the scene to collect evidence and ascertain nature of the explosion.
