The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Friday issued arrest warrants for the administrator of Saadabad Cooperative Housing Society for not appearing before it despite several notices.

The court issued notices to administrator of the housing society asking him to file his comments on a petition against Okhai Memon Jamaat’s seeking clearance of an amenity plot. After the administrator failed to appear despite several warrants, the SHC bench headed by Justice Irfan Saadat issued arrest warrant for the administrator through SHO Ferozabad.

The petitioner, Naveed Iqbal, took Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC), Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) and Saadabad Cooperative Housing Society to the court for allotting amenity plot to Okhai Memon Jamaat for the construction of a community centre/marriage hall.

The petitioner submitted that Saadabad Cooperative Housing Society consists of 260 plots along with three other plots for mosque, school and a park. The petition said that 0.56 acres of land had been allocated for the amenity plot but the society had given the plot to Okhai Memon Jamaat for their community centre. He requested the court to direct the officials to remove all the illegal constructions made on the amenity plot and take action against those responsible.
