The tripartite alliance comprising of JUI-F, ANP and PPP Friday announced boycott of elections of District and Town Nazims to be held on August 30 (Sunday).
The announcement was made after an emergency meeting of representatives of te tripartite alliance, former Senator and Central leader of JUI-F Haji Ghulam Ali said.
The meeting was held at the residence of PPP’s Malik Tehmash Khan and attended by Peshawar JUI-F Amir Khair-ul-Bashar, Maulana Amanullah Haqqani and Haji Ghulam Ali, ANP representatives including Malik Ghulam Mustafa, Malik Naeem and Sartaj Khan.
Haji Ghulam Ali said leaders of tripartite alliance considered the recent election of Local Bodies in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as the worst in the provincial political history.
He continued that no intimation has been made to the successful candidates about oath taking and elections of District and Town Nazims.
Haji Ghulam Ali alleged that holding of District and Town Nazims elections on Sunday has marked a big question mark on the transparency.
The participants of the meeting decided to announce boycott of elections of Peshawar District.
They announced holding of an important press conference at Peshawar Press Club on Saturday (Aug 29).
They said the procedure adopted by PTI government is totally unacceptable and termed it illegal and illogical.
