Federal Directorate of Education Director General Dr Shahnaz A Riaz on Friday filed a reply in Islamabad High Court (IHC) on a show cause notice issued to her for contempt of court.
When IHC judge Noor ul Haq N Qureshi took up the case for hearing, Riaz’s counsel advocate Israr Ahmad Abbasi, standing counsel of federation Raja Khalid Mehmood and DG Dr Riaz appeared in the court.
Dr Riaz presented a copy of a cheque of Rs 150,000 she had made out to private firm, Taj Traders, on account of outstanding arrears. She also filed a reply to the show cause notice issued to her for contempt of court. Dr Riaz told the court that she could not appear in the court due to her participation in a standing committee meeting and she could not be contacted by the officials because her phone was powered off.
The court while seeking more documents and a phone record through advocate general adjourned the hearing till September 14.
