Kidnappers killed, two terrorists arrested in Karachi

Special Investigation Unit (SIU) and Citizens-Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) during a joint search operation on Friday killed two kidnappers and rescued two hostages at Super Highway Northern by-pass.

According to details, exchange of fire occurred between the police officials and kidnappers. SIU and CPLC released the Vice-President of a private bank Ghaus Muhammad from the custody of the kidnappers.

Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) SIU Farooq Awan and CPLC chief Zubair Habib stated that the captive was kidnapped from Site area on August 14 whereas Rs10 crore was demanded from his family as ransom.

The suspects killed during the shootout were not identified yet.

On the other hand, a target killer of Uzair Baloch group was killed in police encounter in Chakewara whereas 15 were detained during search operation in Frere’s area Punjab Colony.

Besides this, during a combined operation of police and Rangers in Mubaina Town as many as two terrorists Farooq Baig and Liaquat Hussain were arrested. Security officials also confiscated two hand-grenades, two pistols and two motorcycles.

Four suspects were also detained from Noor Jahan Road and Iqbal market.
