A decision has been taken to introduce computerised judicial stamp papers to curb fraud and forgery on counterfeit stamp papers.
The computerised judicial paper will only be viable for court related matters. The purchaser will have to deposit a bank challan to obtain the computerised stamp papers.
Sources said that the Punjab Board of Revenue earlier introduced an e-stamp paper aimed at making the process of sale and purchase of property transparent.
The sources said several cases of sale of forged stamp papers have surfaced and huge financial loss was being caused to national exchequer due to forgery in stamp papers. The computerised stamp paper will be secure and free from forgery and the cost of this paper will go to national kitty and not to the pockets of forgers.
Board of Revenue has finalised all the work on this count.
