A Pakistani music television series, Coke Studio features live studio-recorded music performances by various artists. The show – originally produced by Rohail Hyatt until Season 6 – is now produced by the Pakistani band Strings.
Over the years, the miniseries has gained both national and international acclaim for the unique way in which it presents timeless classics and musical masterpieces of Pakistan. While the fourth season was met with skepticism, Season 7 saw a turn around in audience’s opinions and Season 8 has definitely started off on a positive note.
With only two episodes out so far, Season 8 has been met with raving reviews. The Season was introduced by a patriotic tribute to Sohail Rana and Masroor Anwar by the various artists who would be performing in the eighth season.

Other performances that swept listeners off their feet included “Sayon” by Mekaal Hassan Band, and the much anticipated “Rockstar” by Ali Zafar. Nabeel Shaukat Ali’s “Bewajah” also proved to be a delight. Mai Dhai and Karam Abbas performed “Anarkali Pharookai”.
The 8th Season’s 3rd episode will be aired on 29th August 2015.
