Former Speaker National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, who was de-seated by an election tribunal over election irregularities, held a meeting with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in Islamabad Friday and discussed matters pertaining to the upcoming election.
According to reports, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq during the meeting expressed the confience that he would make a comeback in reelection at his constituency, NA-122.
The ruling PML-N has announced to contest elections in NA-122 and NA-154 (Multan), where tribunals ordered reelections on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) petitions.
Report said Sadiq hailed party’s decision to contest by-elections in NA-122 and NA-154 without challenging the tribunal decisions in Supreme Court.
“I was myself eager to contest these elections and hope to secure even more votes than the last election,” Sadiq said, according to a report.
On the occasion, the PM was of the view that politics of protest has failed to deliver anything to masses, affirming that the public’s mandate in 2013 election was ‘genuine’.
